Abstract
Traditional marriage is defined as a marriage between one man and one woman.
The middle countries recognize unions or partnerships for same-sex couples, but not marriages.
Non-traditional countries recognize marriages for both men and women and same sex couples. Non-traditional marriage is a marriage between those of the same sex, or those with altered gender, such as trans-gender, trans-sexual, pan-sexual and other recognized forms of gender. While all non-traditional states recognize same-sex marriage, not all non-traditional states recognize trans-gender marriages.
